Caffrey v Darby
(1801) 6 Ves Jun 488; 31 ER 1159
Key Principle
A trustee who commits a breach of trust is liable to restore the trust estate to the position it would have occupied but for the breach, even where the immediate cause of loss is a third party's default and the loss was not foreseeable.
