Gissing v Gissing [1971] AC 886; [1970] UKHL 3
Key Principle
A beneficial interest in a home held in one party's name arises only where there is a common intention that the other should have such an interest, on the faith of which that other acts to their detriment; absent an agreement, indirect contributions to household expenses generally do not by themselves give rise to a beneficial interest.
