Jeyaretnam Joshua Benjamin v Lee Kuan Yew

Article 14 of the Singapore Constitution does not modify the common law of defamation so as to create a New York Times v Sullivan-style public-figure privilege; politicians and public officials enjoy the same protection of reputation as other citizens, subject to the ordinary common law duty/interest test of qualified privilege.
