St Pierre v South American Stores (Gath & Chaves) Ltd
[1936] 1 KB 382 (CA)
Key Principle
An English court will not stay an action properly brought before it as of right unless the defendant proves the action is oppressive or vexatious or an abuse of process, and a stay would not work injustice to the plaintiff; mere balance of convenience is not enough.
