Target Holdings Ltd v Redferns (a firm)

Key Principle
A trustee in breach of trust is liable to restore or compensate the trust fund only for loss actually caused by the breach, assessed with the benefit of hindsight at the date of trial, not for loss that would have occurred regardless of the breach.
