Tomlinson v Ramsey Food Processing Pty Ltd
(2015) 256 CLR 507
Key Principle
The High Court restated the principles of res judicata, the related doctrines of cause of action estoppel, issue estoppel and the Anshun (Henderson v Henderson) extended estoppel, and held that those estoppels operate only as between the same parties or their privies in interest, a 'privy' being one who claims under or through the party.
