Legal advice privilege applies to any intra-client document sent between or created by members of the client group for the dominant purpose of seeking legal advice, and covers internal communications passing on, considering or applying legal advice. Three Rivers (No 5) was concerned with non-client documents and does not restrict legal advice privilege exclusively to direct lawyer-client communications; its ratio does not preclude privilege for intra-client documents where the dominant purpose is the seeking or use of legal advice.
