Amersi v Leslie
[2023] EWHC 1368 (KB)
Key Principle
In a libel claim concerning multiple individual and discrete publications, the claimant must plead and prove serious harm to reputation under section 1 of the Defamation Act 2013 separately for each publication; a composite or aggregated plea of serious harm across publications is impermissible, and where the publications reach a small number of identifiable recipients the scope for inferring serious harm is reduced.
