Key Principle

To operate as an Interim Payment Notice under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 regime a contractor's interim application must, in substance, form and intent, be free from ambiguity as to the due date and sum claimed; and a Pay Less Notice is not confined to cross-claims and deductions but may deploy the employer's own valuation of the works.
