Hussman v Al Ameen

Hussmann (Europe) Ltd v Al Ameen Development & Trade Co [2000] 2 Lloyd's Rep 83
JurisdictionUnited Kingdom
CourtHigh Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division, Commercial Court
Year2000
StatusBinding authority

Key Principle

Section 68(2)(d) of the Arbitration Act 1996 does not require a tribunal to set out each step by which it reaches its conclusion or to deal with every point made by a party; there is a distinction between 'issues' (which the tribunal must determine) and 'arguments', 'points', 'lines of reasoning' or 'steps' (which it need not separately address), and the threshold for serious irregularity is high.
